Historical Field Trip!

Brooklyn Public Library Children's Room, 1941:

BPL 1941

My friend Alison works there now. She says that it was recently remodeled, but the windows and reading "easels" are still the same. What a great space! I think I'm most jealous about the balcony - except for the inevitable projectiles.

Click through to view much larger - great details.

I think the picture's link is broken--I wanna see it!

Wonderful photo! Maze still has their picture book "easel" somewhere, but I've never seen an actual child sit so ramrod straight in one before! I like the fresh flowers on every table, and the wonderful 40's outfits.

All fixed, Rory. :)

The outfits are great, Heather, and so are the hairstyles!

OMGoodness--if I am ever reincarnated as a librarian I want it to be in that room.
