Well, I don't see the big benefits of having a library sleepover ALL NIGHT and having a fun after-hours party/lock-in thing. Seems like it'd be too hard to chaperon/supervise/schedule-fun-stuff-for a full sleepover. But maybe invite kids and their parents to the Main Library for a party from 5 to 10 pm on a Friday night? That sounds cool!
I am definitely in favor of library sleepovers-- with one caveat: That i never, EVER have to supervise one. I love children. I love libraries. I am happy to dance like a fool, wear a mouse head, anyything you ask, I am game. Just please, I beg you, do not make me host a sleepover! P.S. What time is this sleepover anyway? I need to know when to drop off my kids...
Can we really expect parents to stay overnight? If not, seems like there are some liability and responsibility issues to worry about (what is somebody gets hurt somehow, or simply refuses to listen?) if we are temporary guardians of the overnight visitors. Like JN, I'm ok with it as long as I don't have to do it! -Andy
The Field Museum hosts sleepovers for families periodically and it seems to work very well for them (at least they keep doing it). I do think we could start slowly with a mock sleepover/lock in as Rory suggested, and I'm a fan of Danny hosting! The Trefoborgs can be my trusty assistants and pass out all the free candy and soda pop...

I think you should do it Heather. At the Main library...maybe a whole week-end.
I agree with Lori. Weekly sleepovers, we can rotate supervising them. After August 1st I will be available to host a nightly sleepover.

Heather, you should have a sleepover to celebrate this:
